Post Secondary Dual Credit

Post-secondary dual credit courses are for students who want to earn both high school credits and credits that count towards a post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree. Dual credit courses allow students to explore pathways that can lead them to the education needed to pursue their career interests.

All dual credit courses offered through Connections for Learning will be done online and asynchronously. See below for the course offerings, outlines, and pathways to post secondary programs.

WHY DUAL CREDIT?

Dual credit students:

  • Complete five 30-level CTS credits and three post-secondary credits
  • Get a start on their post-secondary education while in high school
  • Earn post secondary credits with no tuition costs- it’s free!
  • Seamlessly transition to post-secondary studies or into the world of work
  • Explore potential post secondary programs prior to committing time and finances to full enrollment in the program.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS FOR DUAL CREDIT

  • Students should speak with their families, teachers, and school coordinators and/or counsellors about their dual credit options and decide what is right for them.
  • Students should understand the commitment and workload required for a post-secondary level course, including how it will fit into both personal and academic schedules.
  • Students will need to complete the necessary prerequisites and each course may have different requirements.
